Marchand scores go-ahead goal in 3rd, Bruins edge Red Wings
DETROIT –- Brad Marchand scored with 8:30 remaining in the third period, and the Boston Bruins defeated the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday. Jeremy Swayman made 18 saves for the Bruins (10-9-2), who improved to 2-0-0 under interim coach Joe Sacco.

The Red Wings fell to 8-10-2. The Bruins (10-9-3) are 2-0 since interim coach Joe Sacco replaced the fired Jim Montgomery. Talbot made 27 saves to keep the game close until the end. The Red Wings had a six-on-four advantage in the final 1:22 after pulling Talbot for an extra skater and Marchand was called for tripping.
