Sergio Pérez and Carlos Sainz cleared the air after their crash at last week's Azerbaijan Grand Prix in an "awkward" 20-minute conversation while sat next to each other at the circuit's medical centre.

Carlos Sainz recalls sitting in the medical center with Sergio Perez in Baku and realizing how "sh*t" the sport of F1 can be sometimes.

Lifting the lid on his post-race chat with the Red Bull driver, Sainz explained: “We were awkwardly sat next to each other for 20 minutes in the medical centre, both with a heart rate monitor and controlling our vitals.

Helmut Marko criticised Carlos Sainz over an “unnecessary” move in his late Baku shunt with Sergio Perez, which had an “avalanche” effect for Red Bull. Sainz took advantage of Perez’s late-race battle with Charles Leclerc,
