With success comes interest from others and that's what Notre Dame football is going through right now. Already defensive coordinator Al Golden has left for the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals while general manager Chad Bowden has departed for USC.

If Notre Dame has learned anything about the coaching carousel the last couple offseasons, it’s that it doesn’t stop spinning as soon as anyone would like it to. That seems to be the case again this year.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish coach Marcus Freeman is in demand, thanks to taking the Irish to the national championship game against the Ohio State Buckeyes. In fact, the Chicago Bears, who have been looking for a new coach, were rumored to have interest in interviewing Freeman for the role even though Notre Dame gave Freeman a contract extension.

Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman told reporters on Saturday that he’s given “zero thought into coaching in the NFL.” The Bears have done their homework on Freeman, who is coaching Monday in the national championship game against Ohio State.

New head coach Ben Johnson has been making changes to the Chicago Bears coaching staff since he was officially hired by the team last Tuesday. The former Lions offensive guru has brought on his two coordinators as both were announced by the franchise on Monday.
