About 2 p.m., a vehicle occupied by a mother and her five children was riddled with gunfire from a passing vehicle in the 1000 block of Swan Avenue, police said.

The Baton Rouge Police Department identified a child that died from injuries sustained in a shooting on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

Three children were rushed to a pediatric hospital after the shooting, two were reported as critically injured and one was seriously injured. One of those three has since died, officials confirmed.

Eric Taylor was shot last Wednesday less than 100 yards from their home off of Plank Road. His mother heard the gunshots that took his life.
