How safe is it to walk to the park from the Gay St area during the day? Would it be ok for someone (a female) by herself? We've been approached by people asking for money the two evenings we've been on Gay St and the Market area.

During the day, especially during a weekday, you should be OK if you make sure it is daylight when you start & finish. Use a quick pace, walk with intention & purpose, avoid secluded areas & alleyways. Use the pedestrian bridge to cross Henley Street. DO NOT WEAR HEADPHONES OR HAVE YOUR EYES ON YOUR PHONE - be aware of your surroundings. Ignore the panhandlers (their activity is illegal, so don’t feel guilty) and be prepared to run if you ever feel threatened (leave your stilettos at home). Downtown can be a very pleasant place to walk as lots of people work and live downtown. University students are coming and going. My husband worked downtown over 30 years and loved to take a walk during his lunch hour. After dark, a female alone could be more at risk. A risk I wouldn’t take.
Q:
Are there picnic facilities or food vendors in world's fair park?
A:
There are some benches, but not tables or food vendors on a regular basis. However, there are several restaurants within a few feet.

How safe would going up in the Sunsphere be for someone with no sense of danger? My adult son has autism and is very impulsive and doesn't have a good sense of danger. I wanted to know if there are any open high up areas that would be unsafe for him getting to the elevator or once you are up in the Sunsphere. It looks like there is an open observation deck, but is the glass enclosed part open in any area? Thanks!

There is a railing that blocks off the area where the angled glass is. Danger I would so is very low. The space beyond the railing is small then the glass straight ahead is a vertical panel. …

There is a railing that blocks off the area where the angled glass is. Danger I would so is very low. The space beyond the railing is small then the glass straight ahead is a vertical panel. Elevator is fully enclosed. It's free to go up so worth a try. Always slot of kids going up during the day. Possible vertigo effect if you look straight down at the railing.
Q:
Dogs okay to walk around?
A:
Yes, dogs are welcomed at the park. They may need to be on a leash if they like to run around a lot, but, if they stick with you, it should be okay to go without a leash.
Q:
Is it easy to park?
A:
Park in the worlds fair park lot. It's maybe a block away but free!
