I don’t cook steaks on the BS other than searing. But I do use it a lot. Burgers (Smash burgers) have become my favorite on the BS. The hinged lid is a big plus.
Flat top grill vs adding griddle to existing gas grill
WEBAug 26, 2020 — Stir fry, pancakes, bacon, eggs, hash browns, fajitas, Philly cheese steaks, fish, quesadillas etc are all great on the flat top. Problem with adding a griddle plate on top of your gasser is dealing with all the grease from the burgers. A dedicated flat top just handles that aspect so much better. Great problem to have.

WEBFeb 7, 2008 — The primate looks like a good step above both the Camp Chef and Blackstone. Has a nice stainless cart and built in stainless retractable lid. This to me is an ideal griddle. Really like the grease management layout for this griddle also. It also converts easily to a standard grill with nice heavy grates.

Craig's right, old igniters on water heaters, furnaces etc build up rust and carbon deposits. Take some fine sandpaper, steel wool, green pad and buff the igniter wire off, like you would clean a spark plug. A fix 90% of the time.

If that is off, the platter will wobble when you look at it, but won't impact turning unless its scrapes the front ledge. Instead hold a level or straightedge up against the shaft - if it has a bend in it, that could cause a problem.
